ADOBE TECHNICAL REPORT Light-Field Capture by Multiplexing in the Frequency Domain

چکیده
In previous works light-field capture has been analyzed in spatio-angular representation. A light-field camera samples the optical signal within a single photograph by multiplexing the 4D radiance onto the physical 2D surface of the sensor. In this paper we develop a theory of multiplexing the radiance in the frequency domain by optically mixing different spatial and angular frequency components and then capturing the signal by the sensor. We derive a mathematical method for recovering the multiplexed spatial and angular information from the frequency representation. We have developed several prototypes of those frequency domain light-field cameras. They fall into two classes: (1) based on arrays of "active" optical elements, like lenses and prisms, and (2) based on "passive" optical elements, like masks, meshes or pinholes. Both types of cameras are understood and described in a single mathematical formalism in frequency domain. We show examples of novel view synthesis and refocusing based on this frequency domain multiplexing and discuss a number of advantages of the new method.

متن کاملUnified Frequency Domain Analysis of Lightfield Cameras
This paper presents a theory that encompasses both “plenoptic” (microlens based) and “heterodyning” (mask based) cameras in a single frequency-domain mathematical formalism. Light-field capture has traditionally been analyzed using spatio-angular representation, with the exception of the frequency-domain “heterodyning” work. In this paper we interpret “heterodyning” as a general theory of multi...
متن کاملComparison of two modulation techniques using frequency domain processing for in-house networks
Recently, the industry has shown a growing interest in the field of in-house wireless communication. The two major technical challenges are the interference and the signal distortion by the communication channel. We propose three different interference mitigation and distortion compensation strategies. These strategies are based on frequency domain processing, which is best supported by Orthogo...
متن کاملComparison of OFDM and Single Carrier Transmission in Power Line Communications
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a suitable candidate for broadband power line communications (PLC). It has shown that the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of Single Carrier Transmission with Frequency Domain Equalization (SCT-FDE) is close to OFDM in broadband wireless systems. In this paper we investigate the BER performance of SCT employing time and frequency domain decis...

Due to the increase of users the efficient usage of spectrum plays an important role in digital terrestrial television networks. In digital video broadcasting, local and global content are transmitted by single frequency network and multifrequency network respectively. Multifrequency network support transmission of global content and it consumes large spectrum. Similarly local content are well ...
